HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS

To work as a healthcare provider in the Netherlands, you have to be registered with the CIBGBIG-registry. This applies to all healthcare professions, from doctors, nurses and chemists to therapists, psychologists and midwives. Before you can register, you have to provide proof of Dutch proficiency in addition to your professional degrees. We can help! Both with preparing for the test and with taking the test.

We regularly organise individual and group courses in Dutch for beginners and more proficient speakers. These courses, with a content tailored closely to today’s requirements imposed on communicative skills, are intended for everyone who wants to work in health care in The Netherlands. Be it as a nurse, a doctor or a psychologist.

Focused on everyday practice

These practice-oriented courses focus on the improvement of your speaking and listening skills. You are involved in role-playing, dialogues and discussions that increase your self-confidence, enlarge your vocabulary, and improve your insight into the grammar. The courses focus on the dexterous use of the language in everyday situations rather than on an in-depth knowledge of the grammar. Self-evidently the yield from the course is partly dependent on your motivation, learning pace, and attendance. Homework and self-study increase the effectiveness of the course.

The trainers are native speakers

Our trainers are competent native native speakers who enable the participants to attain an excellent command of the language and, moreover, introduce them to the business culture of our country.

The planning and location

The duration of the courses depends on your current language skill, determined through an entry test. Courses can be taken online or on one of our locations throughout The Netherlands.

Certificate of participation

Regular attendance of the lessons entitles the participant to a certificate at the end of the course. If you so require the course can be completed with a test, when your final level will then also be stated on the certificate.

The BIG language test with certificate

Participants can take a test at the end of the course. The results can be used to qualify for entering the BIG registration process for health care professionals.

Different proficiency levels apply to different professional levels:

  • Secondary vocational level (e.g. nurses): B1
  • Higher vocational level (e.g. physical therapists, physician’s assistants, medical assistants, midwives and registered dental hygienists): B2
  • University level (e.g. doctors, dentists, chemists, psychotherapists, psychologists and clinical technicians): B2/C1
